How do I get pricing?
Complete the order form and a sales representative will provide a custom quote. Quantity discounts are available.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all forms of payment, including major credit cards.
Are the products you sell approved by health authorities?
Where indicated, the products we sell are cleared or authorized by the FDA for sale in the U.S. Additionally, Kovid Shop is registered with the FDA as an importer and distributor, and all the products we import are FDA listed (FDA#10078699 ). Some products are not regulated by the FDA but by other agencies, such as EPA, NIOSH or EU.
Can I get technical data, such as test reports, certifications, or MSDS on the product?
Absolutely. Just let us know what you’re interested in seeing and we’ll provide copies by email.
Are your products TAA and BAA compliant (U.S.)?
Yes they are. TAA refers to the Trade Agreements Act. Under 19 USC 2501 Trade Agreements Act government agencies may only purchase US-made or designated country end products or US or designated country services. South Korea is a “designated country” due to the United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement.
BAA refers to the Buy American Act. Essentially, the act protect U.S. businesses by restricting federal acquisition and use of products that are not “domestic.” However, BAA is waived pursuant to the United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement so our products are treated the same as “domestic.”
Do I have to arrange for shipping or customs clearance?
Nope. We take care of all shipping, import, customs clearance, FDA release, import security filing, and last mile shipping. We provide turnkey, door-to-door logistics.
How often do you ship?
We currently run two flights a week into the US. One from Seoul into LAX and one into JFK. However, we can fly into any major U.S. airport. From there, we can offer “hotshot” shipping directly to your location or can ship by a commercial ground carrier. We ship internationally as needed CIF. In stock items ship via Fedex overnight or 2 day.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Yes, since we’re a bulk distributor to enterprise customers, we do have minimum orders for each product, which vary by product. We currently do not sell to individual consumers. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
What is the lead time?
In stock items ship by Fedex overnight or 2 day. Orders not in stock arrive about two weeks after they’re placed.
Why do you primarly import from Korea?
The top reasons—high quality and availability.
Quality: Korea is an innovator and produces high-quality products. They have strict quality control and strong regulatory oversight. Korea manufacturers must follow Korean Good Manufacturing Practice (KGMP) standards, which are similar to international standards for quality management systems (ISO 13485) and have oversight from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). Unlike some countries, such as China where the FDA has recently removed dozens of products, Korean suppliers are in excellent standing with the FDA and respected by medical professionals.
Availability: COVID-19 put the global supply chain in shock, and it’s only worsening. Most medical consumables and nearly all PPE are made outside of the U.S. About 50 of these medical-equipment-producing countries have embargoed or restricted exports to deal with the COVID crisis within their own borders. However, South Korea managed to contain the virus quickly, which means they have excess supply for export. We have worked with our Korean suppliers to dedicate a substantial portion of their production capacity to the U.S. market to fill the gap.
Can you ship to locations outside of the U.S.?
Yes. We distribute our products globally. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
